I have recently watched a youtube video made by Vince Delmonte. He’s a guy who’s promoting a six pack abs program. He’s got the real deal, with all the six pack abs and he’s been competing with different fitness model competitions.

However, I don’t think he knows much about when he talked about Fat Loss 4 Idiots.

Watch the video. Take particular attention at around 0:57 seconds where he says that almost 90% of fat loss books have been rehashed and was slapped with a fancy name.

I have seen his 84-day meal plan and it does look really familiar to me too.

He’s abs program is just about to be launched while Fat Loss 4 Idiots has been in the market for the past 5 years already.

I have to agree that he knows he’s stuff when it comes to exercising and if you really do the program that he teaches you can probably get great abs after doing his 16 week program twice. However, you will need to dedicate time to do this. Time and a whole LOT of effort.

Vince’s fitness program is great but it’s not for everybody. Not everybody can spare an hour and a half in the gym everyday and not everybody can exert effort on those exercises especially those who have injuries.

All I’m saying is before you choose a diet program, you have to know if it will fit your lifestyle and you have to set your goal. If you want to get washboard abs, go with Vince’s program BUT if you just want to lose weight and be able to see your toes by following a simple diet THEN go with Fat Loss 4 Idiots.

These 2 diet plans, The Zone Diet and The Atkins Diet, have been quite controversial and have generated quite a large following especially when they were first introduced in the market.

The Zone Diet applies a principle called the 1-2-3 method which means that for every gram of essential or good fat the you eat, you will have to eat twice as much of protein and 3 times the amount of carbohydrates. This method is structured to keep your metabolism going and to keep you feeling full all the time.

Unlike the Atkins Diet, the Zone diet has no carbohydrate restrictions. It allows dieters to take in a maximum of 140 gms of carbohydrates each day.

The Atkins Diet Plan has a restrictive phase in the first two weeks of the cycle and you will have to undergo a vitamin and mineral supplementation and this will make up for the deficiency of nutrients due to the 2 week restriction.

People have to understand that it is important for them to follow the restriction only for the first 2 weeks even though they still can continue it because if they prolong the initial phase, it will post dangerous effects to their kidneys and digestive system.

One advantage that the Zone Diet have against The Atkins Diet is that there is no restrictive phase being followed to lose weight. It generally promotes moderation in meals that is why you don’t lose body strength.

There have been reports that The Zone Diet is easier to follow than the Atikins diet and you will have better chances of keeping of the fat once you have gotten rid of it. But, these diet plans teaches a new approach on dieting and eating healthy and like any other diet plan, they do not offer any quick fix to your weight problems.

The best diet plan for you will be the one that will fit your needs and the one that you will be able to incorporate easily in your lifestyle. You may want to take a look at The Idiot Proof Diet and see if this is the diet plan that you can use for the long term to get maximum and effective results.

I know you are probably wondering why almost all diet plans out there have to do with counting calories and some even follow the math by heart.  But believe it or not, there are actually 2 diet plans that do now apply the counting calorie principle - The Sonoma Diet and The Mediterranean Diet Plans.

Some people get the two diet plans mixed up thinking that they are the same.  However, The Sonoma Diet claims that their diet plan has been structured or based upon the Mediterranean Diet Plan, but Sonoma Diet is geared more toward getting weight loss results.

Similarities of the 2 Diet Plans:

  • portion control
  • controlling calories
  • belief that good food must be enjoyed and avoidance of deprivation
  • carbohydrates is included in the diet

However, the initial phase of the Sonoma Diet, which is called Wave 1, it is structured to kick your sweet tooth cravings and basically forbid fruits and alcohol in your first 10 days.  The initial phase usually is a great motivator for people who undergo this diet because they really do lose pounds rapidly.

The Cons Of Sonoma Diet

  • time consuming meal recipes
  • expensive ingredients

Unlink the Sonoma Diet, The Mediterranean Diet Plan has no food restrictions.  There are no food deprivations at any phase of the diet plan.  The plan is geared on teaching you on how to control the portions of food that you eat every meal and it is more generous with veggies than meats.

Although the Mediterranean Diet results are also effective, and the diet recipes do not require you to look for hard to find and expensive ingredients, you will not however see the same rapid weight loss that you get when using the Sonoma method of dieting.

The Sonoma Diet and Mediterranean Diet Plans believe in letting people who want to lose weight to enjoy all the food they want to eat as long as they maintain and adhere to portion control.  The Wave 1 in the Sonoma Diet will get you fast results but after that both diet plans will help you lose weight on a slow and steady phase.

If you need a diet plan that is also geared towards natural BUT fast weight loss check out The Idiot Proof Diet and learn more about a new and revolutionized method of losing weight called “Shifting Calories Theory”.
